The modern recruiter juggles 6 to 8 tools every day: ATS, CRM, LinkedIn, Gmail, job boards, calendar, messaging, reporting spreadsheet. Each tool keeps its data in its own silo. Result: nearly 40% of the time is spent on administrative tasks — copy-pasting, manual searches, one-by-one follow-ups.
What if your AI assistant — Claude, ChatGPT or another — could access in real time your candidate pool, your open positions, your process pipeline, your professional inbox, to execute tasks on your behalf? That's exactly the promise of MCP (Model Context Protocol).
What is an MCP, concretely?
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard published by Anthropic (the American company that developed Claude AI) in late 2024. Its role: connect a generative AI to your business tools in a secure way, without requiring custom development or fragile scraping.
In practice, a software publisher (like Marvin Recruiter) exposes an MCP layer that describes what the AI can do within the tool: search for a candidate, create a process, send a sequence, read a timeline. The user connects their Claude account (or another compatible client) to this MCP, and can then dialogue in natural language with their ATS as they would with a colleague.
No app to install, no extra tab. The AI becomes the conductor of your recruitment tools.
6 things an MCP will change in your daily life as a recruiter

1. Conversational sourcing in your talent pool
Today, finding the right profiles in your own CV database takes time: you have to open the ATS, build an advanced search with the right filters, read through results one by one.
With an MCP, you simply write to Claude:
"Find me 10 senior Python developers based in Paris, available from June, with experience in microservices. Show me the top 3 with a one-sentence summary each."
The AI queries your talent pool via the MCP, applies the criteria, ranks candidates by relevance and delivers an actionable shortlist in under 30 seconds. You save considerable time on the pre-selection phase.
2. Shortlist generated from a brief
A client sends you a job description at 3 PM for Friday. Normally, you'd have to read it, extract the criteria, run multiple searches, cross-reference the results.
With an MCP connected to your ATS and your sourcing channels (LinkedIn via Unipile, external CV databases), you simply paste the brief into Claude:
"Here's the job description. Build me a shortlist of 15 candidates by cross-referencing my internal pool and LinkedIn, justify each choice."
The AI parses the brief, identifies the key skills, runs the right searches in parallel and delivers a commented list. What used to take two hours is done in five minutes.
3. Bulk follow-ups, laser-targeted
Follow-ups are the guilty pleasure of recruiters: everyone knows they should be done, but they always fall to the bottom of the pile.
With an MCP:
"Follow up with all candidates in the Acme Corp process who haven't responded in 5 days. Warm tone, personalise by mentioning their last role."
The AI queries your pipeline, identifies the relevant candidates, drafts a personalised message per candidate and sends the sequence via the appropriate channel (email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp). You approve with one click. Dozens of relevant follow-ups in 10 minutes instead of half a day.
4. Automatic interview summaries in the timeline
The interview is over. The write-up, on the other hand, never gets done.
With an MCP connected to a note-taking module (like Marvin's), the interview audio is transcribed, summarised, structured (strengths, red flags, decision), then posted in the candidate's timeline automatically. The AI can even suggest the next action: "Schedule a second technical interview with the lead dev" and create the task in your tool.
Result: zero incomplete candidate files, a rich history, an aligned team.
5. Conversational reporting
Dashboards are great. But they rarely answer the precise question you're asking yourself.
With an MCP, you simply ask:
"How many placements signed this quarter per sales rep, compared to last quarter? And what's the interview → offer conversion rate per consultant?"
The AI queries your tables, aggregates the data, and delivers an answer in text + chart format. Managers move from passive reporting (opening 3 dashboards to find one piece of information) to active reporting (ask a question, get the answer).
6. Multi-channel distribution and job ad translation
Publishing a job on 8 job boards + translating into 3 languages + adapting the tone to each platform = 2 hours of manual work.
With an MCP:
"Take the Data Engineer position in Lyon, translate it into English, Spanish and German, and publish on Welcome to the Jungle, LinkedIn, Indeed, Apec and HelloWork with the tone adapted to each platform."
The AI handles everything. You save hours on every new position, and you multiply your candidate reach.
What exists today, what's coming in 2026

Let's be honest: not everything is perfect yet. MCP is young (less than a year old). Current limitations:
- Latency: some complex requests (multi-source shortlists) take 10 to 20 seconds — acceptable but not instant.
- Hallucinations: on very specific business data, the AI can still make things up. Serious publishers enforce guardrails (source citations, confirmation before irreversible actions).
- Security: all sensitive actions (sending a message, deletion) must go through human validation. This is what Marvin Recruiter enforces by default.
What's coming in 2026:
- Autonomous MCP agents: the AI no longer waits for your orders, it triggers workflows on its own (e.g. a candidate responds positively → it automatically opens a process + schedules an interview).
- Multi-MCP orchestration: Claude combines multiple MCPs (your ATS + Slack + your calendar + LinkedIn) to orchestrate cross-tool actions in a single request.
- Voice-first: dictate requests to the AI from a mobile, between client meetings.

Mini FAQ
Is my candidate data sent to Claude?
Only what you ask for, at the moment you ask for it. The MCP does not replicate your database in Anthropic's servers: with each request, the AI calls the Marvin API in real time, receives the necessary data, and the data is not stored on the Claude side beyond the conversation. You stay in control — GDPR-compliant, European hosting.
Do I need a Claude Pro subscription?
To use the Marvin MCP via Claude Desktop, a Claude account (free or Pro) is sufficient. Claude Pro (€20/month) offers more comfortable quotas if you use the MCP intensively every day. You can also connect the MCP to other compatible clients (Cursor, Continue, etc.).
MCP is not a gimmick. It's a paradigm shift: AI becomes the entry point for your tools, and your tools reshape themselves around it. Recruiters who adopt these workflows in 2026 will gain a decisive operational advantage — less admin, more time with candidates, more placements.
Marvin Recruiter is designed to bring you into this era today, without disruption, without redesign, without extra cost.
